It is a fine example of an old english town with a myriad of small, privately owned retail outlets. The area also boasts the world famous Knole Park with links to kings, queens and nobility. Knole house, at the centre of the park, has thirteen magnificent state rooms including world-renowned rare furniture, important paintings and the prototype of the famous Knole settee.
The park one of the few deer-parks in England to have survived the past 500 years. It is only one in Kent and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The park, also renowned for it natural beauty, is always a hit with tourists and locals alike.
